Welcome Kababayan!
Join us and foster connections between Filipino Canadian lawyers and legal professionals across the country.

Connect and collaborate with fellow law professionals
The FCLN/RAPC was established to create a national organization to support Filipino Canadian lawyers across Canada.
We are an inclusive association connecting, supporting and celebrating Filipino Canadians in law from coast to coast to coast. If you identify as a Filipino Canadian in law, then you’ve come to the right place. We look forward to getting to know you.
Membership is open to:
- lawyers who are active calls in a province or territory of Canada
- internationally trained lawyers who are currently enrolled in the NCA (accreditation) process
- articling students in a province or territory of Canada
- law students registered in an accredited law school in Canada
Meet Your Board of Directors
We strive to support and increase the growing number of diverse Filipino Canadians working in the legal industry across Canada.
PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES
What we are working on
FCLN-RAPC strives to provide opportunities to our members to gain exposure, develop skills, and present their knowledge to Canadians. The Network supports our members in applying into the judiciary and seeking higher profile roles in order to help uplift all Filipino Canadians throughout the country. FCLN-RAPC encourages young Filipino Canadians to enter into the legal profession and internationally trained Filipino and Filipino Canadian lawyers to become qualified to practice law in Canada. FCLN-RAPC is always open to collaboration with other associations and entities for the betterment of the community and the legal profession in Canada.

Mentorship Program
In 2025, FCLN-RAPC launched its inaugural FCLN Awards Night to recognize the achievements of Filipino Canadians in law. The first Awards Night took place in British Columbia on February 22, 2025.
Each year, we hope to celebrate Filipino Canadian lawyers in a different province.
Our events page and news pages will feature details about our first 5 honourees and their achievements.

Osgoode Oral History Program
FCLN-RAPC chronicles the stories of Filipino Canadian lawyers and judges through the Osgoode Oral History Program.
You can find histories by searching the Osgoode Society Oral History website. To read a lawyer or judge’s transcribed oral history, you may contact the Osgoode Society directly.
If you would like to volunteer and assist in collecting the stories, please get in touch.

Filipino Heritage Month
Each year, FCLN-RAPC celebrates FHM in different ways to remind our communities of the work it took to get here.
In 2017, Toronto City Council declared June as Filipino Heritage Month. This had a cascading effect; Ontario and Canada soon followed suit. In 2018, Montreal and Edmonton each launched Filipino Heritage Month in June.

Mentorship Program
FCLN-RAPC runs a mentorship program for junior lawyers, law students, and lawyers changing practice areas. Whether it’s substantive or practice management help, networking, or navigating difficult workplace issues, our mentors are dedicated to helping our junior members.
To get matched with a mentor or to become a mentor, please contact Alicia Natividad.

Law & Policy Subcommittee
FCLN-RAPC regularly contributes to the shaping of law and policy in Canada by providing comments on proposed policies and legislation of interest to our members and broader community in conjunction with RODA and by participating in calls for comment with governments and law societies. FCLN-RAPC also watches the courts for critical cases where we may wish to join as an intervenor if our members or community have an interest in the subject matter or would be affected by the decision.
If you are interested in assisting with this initiative, please contact Rachel Sachs.

NCA Resources
Many Filipino Canadians in law were international students or internationally trained lawyers. NCAs undergo a tremendous and stressful process to become qualified in Canada. In 2025, we are working on creating resources and tools to address NCA and licensing issues and assist international candidates.

Filipino Heritage Month
We celebrate FHM annually in different ways to remind our communities of the work it took to get here. In 2017, Toronto City Council declared June as Filipino Heritage Month. This had a cascading effect; Ontario and Canada soon followed suit. In 2018, Montreal and Edmonton each launched Filipino Heritage Month in June.

Legal Series
Since its inception, FCLN-RAPC provides a virtual legal series open to both the legal community and the public on issues of interest. The sessions highlight legal issues of interest our members’ expertise and practice areas.

Filipino Firsts
In 2021, we sought to compile a list of the first Filipino Canadian lawyers and judges in each province and territory. We are lucky to have such stalwart leaders amongst us.
