A year after the tragedy in Vancouver during the Lapu Lapu Day street festival, the Filipino community came together at the Italian Cultural Centre and held the Lapu Lapu Day of Togetherness. It was a free, one day community gathering centered on reflection, remembrance, and connection. The event held space for more grounded and reflective programming, while the afternoon shifted into highlighting Filipino arts, culture, and community engagement.
The FCLN-RAPC was honored to be invited and our Vancouver members Jocelyn Toledo and Kim Taguibao engaged with community members in order to share information about our work, and provided support or resources where appropriate.
